Privacy Policy for “Youtube: Send to AI chat”

This extension extracts YouTube video transcripts and allows the user to send them to selected AI chat services for analysis. All actions are initiated explicitly by the user.
2. Data Collected
The extension may process the following data:
- YouTube video transcript content (read from the page)
- Video metadata (e.g., title, URL)
- User settings (stored locally in the browser)
- Optional user-provided API key (e.g., Cerebras API key)
No personally identifiable information is collected by the extension itself.
3. How Data Is Used
Data is used solely to:
- Extract and display YouTube transcripts
- Send transcripts to AI chat services selected by the user
- Generate summaries or responses based on user requests
- Store user preferences locally
All processing is performed only when triggered by the user.
4. Data Storage
- User settings and cached data are stored locally using browser storage APIs.
- The extension does not maintain its own database of user data.
5. Data Sharing
Data may be sent to third-party services only when explicitly initiated by the user:
- AI chat platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
- Backend processing endpoint (e.g., *.stereoreader.workers.dev)
- Optional API providers (e.g., api.cerebras.ai)
These services process data according to their own privacy policies.
The extension does not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties for independent use.

- The extension does not store transcript or chat data on external servers.
- Any data sent to third-party services is not retained by the extension.

The extension operates entirely within the user’s browser environment. Data is only transmitted when required to fulfill user actions.
